MINDS (Muslim Interest Association Lower Saxony) is a supraregional association of Muslim communities and organizations in Lower Saxony. As a state association, MINDS represents the interests of Muslims towards politics, society, and institutions – while providing a variety of practical services for daily life.

Our tasks and services
Integration Assistance
MINDS supports people with a migration background upon their arrival and orientation in Germany. This includes language promotion, educational opportunities, counseling on social participation, and support in accessing work, training, and authorities.

Islamic Burials
The association organizes and coordinates dignified burials according to Islamic guidelines – both in Lower Saxony and for repatriations abroad. Relatives receive comprehensive counseling in emotionally challenging times.

Islamic Weddings
MINDS offers the conducting of Islamic marriages (Nikah) through religiously recognized authorities. If desired, preliminary discussions for marriage preparation as well as intercultural counseling are also provided.

Spiritual Care and Support
In hospitals, correctional facilities, and in the community: MINDS provides qualified spiritual caregivers who accompany people in crisis moments – regardless of origin or status.

Social Work
Whether youth assistance, support for refugees, counseling on family or social issues – MINDS is close to the people and collaborates with municipal organizations and social institutions.
